1. In early 1944, because of the steadily increasing growth of Phoenix and the accompanying growth of Grace Lutheran Church, plans were discussed for the establishment of anew mission in north Phoenix. |

2. In the fall of 1944, a pastor was called by the Board of American Missions of the United Lutheran Church of America to work with the people of Grace Lutheran Church in the founding of the proposed mission and in March of 1945 the preliminary work began. |

3. All members of Grace Lutheran Church who lived in north Phoenix were invited to become members of the new mission. |

4. On Sunday evening, May 20, 1945 all those interested met together at Grace Lutheran Church for worship and continued services on the following Sundays. The mission was organized on July 8, 1945 with seventy-six charter members. |

5. On September 23, 145 the new congregation began worshipping in Madison School near the 2 and 1/4 acre church property at Camelback Road and Eight Street, which the church had previously purchased. |
