Faith Lutheran Preschool and Parenting Center, an outreach of Faith Lutheran Church, provides a loving, caring atmosphere for the nurture of young children. This year-round program offers all-day infant care, an all-day toddler program, and preschool for 3, 4 and 5-year olds with extended day care available. Faith Ministries
Here are some opportunities to be active in the ministry at Faith Lutheran Church. Download more information using links at the bottom of this list.
Fellowship Team: Develops, promotes and supports Christian community within the congregation. Responsible for C-time, (refreshments after worship) celebrations, receptions, seasonal breakfasts, brunches, suppers and whatever events and activities the team creates. Manages and supplies the kitchen.
Property Team: Takes care that all property of the congregation is kept clean, beautiful and in good repair. Responsible for proper maintenance, restoration and protection of the church’s buildings and grounds.
FaithWatchers Team: Helps the people of Faith identify their abilities to serve Jesus in their work and daily life as well as in the congregation’s ministry. Observes who is worshipping, growing, serving and giving to seek out those who might be allowing a problem or difficulty to keep them from gathering with fellow Christians. Encourages everyone to enjoy the vitality of life in Christ.
Education Team: Provides for and encourages the life-long development of every person’s faith in Jesus and everyone’s life of serving Him. Designs and guides Faith’s baptismal ministry (Faith’s Footsteps), the teaching of self-care, parenting, Faith Lutheran Youth and marriage ministry. Plans our Sunday morning educational offerings and all other opportunities for growth in Christ.
Community Outreach Team: Extends compassion, helpfulness and the love of Jesus to all people, whatever their needs, both within and outside the congregation. Helps those who are not able to come to continue to sense their importance as people of Faith. Provides rides. Informs us of the local, national and world-wide ministries in which we participate. Studies social conditions and the church’s social teaching statements and involves us in the cleansing and healing of Jesus through careful, thoughtful moral deliberation.
Worship Planning Team: Provides for the teaching and learning of everything that has to do with worship, such as the meaning of the liturgy, the church year, the church’s hymns, the church’s furnishings, the linens, the paraments and the vessels. Responsible that competent ushers and acolytes are recruited and trained, that worship supplies are maintained, and that all of the church’s altar & chancel ware are kept in good care. Provides décor to enrich our festival worship services and other special services. Serves as consultation for the Pastor in the hiring of music and choral staff.
Stewardship Team: Works toward members' sharing of time, talents, and financial contributions throughout the year.
Finance Team: Creates the Annual Budget. Oversees all financial matters of the congregation to make sure they are being conducted efficiently and effectively. Reports the finances of the congregation to the people of Faith often and regularly.
Evangelism Team: Helps the congregation understand that everything we are and do is evangelism and outreach. Maintains a system by which those who visit Faith’s worship receive a timely response to their interest in our ministry and we express our interest in having them join us. Designs thoughtful ways to reach out to the people of our neighborhood and our part of Phoenix with the love that God has for them in Jesus.
Footsteps: Sponsors Sunday School, which meets at 10:30 am following worship hour. All children ages 3 years through grade 6 are invited to Faith Place for Sunday School. Learn and play, sing and pray while getting to know Jesus and His love for us all. Snacks are provided. Summer Bible School is adventure, make-believe travel to foreign lands with plane rides, tour guides . . . all about learning of Jesus's love for all His children.
FLY: Faith Lutheran Youth; energetic, young, active, exploring, fun, Bible study . . our young people forming relationships with one another to learn and experience Jesus Christ in their daily lives. Volleyball, lock-in sleep overs, helping with church projects, working on Confirmation studies, watching movies, playing ping-pong, scavenger hunts. Meet youth, young men and women on their spiritual journeys.
